Sherlock/Fringe Crossover Headcannon 1
The reason Sherlock can’t always go into a deep thought process when other people are around? It stems from his childhood. Unbenounced to him, Sherlock was given cortexiphan in the Jackson, Florida trials. He was realised early, because the drugs didn’t seem to have any affect on him. They, did, but William and Walter didn’t realize it. Instead of pyrotechnic abilities like most of the other test subjects, cortexiphan gave Sherlock the ability to pick up on brainwaves (along with enhancing his deduction skills), and the deeper in thought he is, the easier it becomes.

It had been about a year since Mrs. Hudson let you stay in 221b with the two men, which at first, had seemed a bit odd. After a few months you had gotten used to Sherlock's mess, violin until 4 a.m., random gunshots, and the sudden trips they would take. Mostly, you would stay behind because both men insisted the job was too dangerous, but you often wondered if it was because they think that you would act helpless
